During the pandemic, the Food Policy Council engaged with farmers, food processors and businesses, food and farm-related non-profits, and local government in the Columbia Basin to discuss our work and challenges in that uncertain time.
During 2020 and 2021, we launched and hosted 19 virtual COVID Roundtables for those involved in food systems across the Columbia Basin in response to the pandemic.
In February 2021, we asked all farmers in the Columbia Basin to complete a survey on how their 2020 farming season went and what they anticipate for 2021. Results were used to inform the Food Security Action Plan we were working on at the time.
