Paris Marshall-Smith

Paris Marshall Smith (she/her-they/them) joined the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) in 2017 to support sustainability and climate action work. Her focus includes energy, water, food and agriculture and climate action. She came into the role as registered planner with a background in regional food systems and a Masters in Community and Regional Planning. Soon to be based in Nelson, Paris has lived in the Kootenays for 10 years and is slowly making her way around Kootenay Lake. Prior to the Kootenays, Paris worked and studied around the world including Copenhagen, Durban and Tegucigalpa. Food and the strengthening of food systems, whether at a regional, community or household level has been an active area of Paris’ life for more than 25 years. Most recently, Paris and her wife Molly started Two Loons Farm as an experiment in small scale, human powered farming.
