Hailey Troock

Hailey is the Land Matcher for the Columbia Basin / Kootenay region with the B.C. Land Matching Program delivered by Young Agrarians (YA). She provides personalized land matching and business support services to farmers looking for land to start or expand their farm, and landholders interested in finding someone to farm their land. Hailey was nominated for the 2019 Kootenay Business ‘Influential Women in Business’ Awards for her work with YA. She also sits on the Board of Directors for the Kootenay Local Agricultural Society, which manages a tool library with three locations across the region. She obtained a MSc degree in international public management and policy in the Netherlands and has professional experience in diplomacy, bilateral negotiation, project administration and business support. Her interest in collaborative and bottom-up network approaches to climate change mitigation, ecological restoration, regenerative farming and economic localization drive her participation in food systems and policy initiatives in the Central Kootenay and beyond.
