Join us for June 21 Council Meeting with Ciraj Premanantham

We are excited to have chef and entrepreneur Ciraj Premanantham join us for our next Council meeting where he will share his personal journey of developing and running his flourishing food businesses in Nelson. Ciraj is owner and operator of several businesses specializing in delicious South Indian food, including the Kootenay Tamil Kitchen, KTK Masala Shop and KTK Rosemont Market.

In addition to hearing from Ciraj, there will be time for regular Council meeting business, including updates from our members.

This meeting will be held online on Tuesday June 21st from 1:00pm to 2:30pm PDT and is open to Council members and anyone wishing to attend. If you are interested in joining us for the first time, please email comms[at]ckfoodpolicy.ca.

About Ciraj Premanantham

Ciraj is a Red Seal Chef and has been working in the food and beverage industry for over 18 years. He started his career in India with the Sheraton group of hotels and then worked for U.S Cruise lines where he was chef for over 6400 guests and managed 137 cooks. He moved to the Kootenays in 2012, working as a cook at the Prestige Inn Lakeside Resort and eventually becoming the owner-operator of the West Coast Grill in the Prestige Inn Lakeside Resort. In 2012, he started the Kootenay Tamil Kitchen out of a desire to offer authentic South Indian cuisine in the Kootenays. Along with his wife Martina, they have expanded their businesses to include the KTK Masala Shop, a grocery store offering authentic South-Indian spices and products, and KTK Rosemont Market.
